  • Candidate ForumsSponsoring events for voters to engage with candidates running for state and local offices.


  • Voter Registration: Registering new citizens to vote during naturalization ceremonies for new US citizens.


  • Voter Protections: Advocating against voter suppression legislation and participating in lawsuits to make it easier to cast a ballot.


  • Expanding Voting: Advocating for expanded early voting sites and hours providing more Wake County citizens more opportunities to vote.

Defending Democracy

 

Redistricting:

Working to end gerrymandering of voting districts in North Carolina, LWVWake advocates for fair redistricting practices to ensure transparency and fairness in the process. We also provide educational resources and tools on our website to help people better understand and engage in the redistricting process.

 


Election Security & Modernization: Advocating for the adoption of established cybersecurity best practices and technology improvements to improve the accuracy of voter rolls and the use of hand-marked, verifiable paper ballots. 


 

Observer Corps

LWVWake monitors government meetings at the state, county, and local levels throughout Wake County to ensure that citizens are aware of decisions that impact their lives and that the meetings are conducted in an open and transparent manner.
